TCORE101: Presentation Response

Hmmmm, what to say about it. Overall, I feel that I confidently expressed a lot of my personality through it. I was aiming to make it somewhat enjoyable for the viewers, though getting enthused about having to read/watch twenty powerpoints a day isn't exactly what many students would call, "fun." Albeit that, I did have a bit of trouble in some other areas.

I didn't think that I adequately expressed my paper through the presentation - as I was restricted in many ways, especially detailing a few extra quotes, and going in-depth with each examination. I wouldn't consider myself a strong presenter, and up till senior year, I dreaded having to step in front of a class (now I just kind of shrug it off and go with the flow). So with the mediocre level of tingling nerves, I easily tripped on some ideas, or unintentionally omitted a few things I was going to talk about. While I write notes down, I can't seem to actually use them effectively as I feel like I'm pausing several minutes while looking at a paper with simple reminders. In my honest opinion, I think maybe some sort of Socratic discussion would have been better, as we can be more one-on-one with people, and they won't feel pressured to not answer in fear that not all of the class agrees.

Other than that, the whole thing was pretty easy. I had a good idea of where I was going with the paper, so it was easy to make the presentation. The most difficult thing for me while making it was choosing a theme, only because I tend to be super-indecisive. I probably spent a good thirty minutes on a theme alone, experimenting with colors and what not... right before I just threw out all that work in frustration and stuck with something simple :p But yeah, in a nutshell, I'm having mixed feelings about this presentation, but still - I feel confident that I at least earned a 3... but we'll see, won't we.
